Celebrating 127 Years of Ministry and God's Faithfulness
On Sunday, Sept 7 Wilton Church celebrated 127 years of continued ministry and also 50 years of God's faithfulness after major building projects - with a concert by a local singing group and a BBQ lunch. Wilton Holiness Movement Church was established in 1898 under the leadership of Bishop Rev. Ralph C. Horner. In 1926 the folks of Wilton transitioned to the Standard Church of America. At that time Wilton was part of a "Two-Point Charge" with the Hamlet of Violet. In 1975 the Church building and parsonage in Violet were sold and the proceeds used to purchase empty land next door to the Wilton Church for the purposes of building a new parsonage. Monies were also used to complete major renovations and improvements to the church structure. We rejoice in God's goodness and look forward to what He has in store for us to do until Jesus returns.
